Maven Patch Day

Maven Patch Day is attempt by the developers of Maven to have an organized day where we can incorporate as many patches as we can. We are asking people who have submitted patches to make it be known in the table on the Maven Patch Day page in our user wiki, in addition we ask that they be available while we try to incorporate their patches on Tuesday August. In the event there are any problems the person responsible for the patch can incorporate feedback from us, make any necessary changes, and test those changes so that we can keep processing other patches throughout the day.

We realize that many users are frustrated by not having their patches incorporated into Maven so this is our first organized attempt to remedy the situation. We definitely don't want to turn people away from contributing to the project because we don't make time to incorporate external work.

Maven Patch Day will take place on Tuesday August 21st and we pretty much have all TZs covered. If you have a patch you are encouraged to submit it on the Maven Patch Day page and be available via email, or preferably join our IRC chat room (irc.codehaus.org:6667 #maven).

Maven in Zurich

The SWX Swiss Exchange has graciously sponsored a presentation about Maven at their beautiful Convention Point facilities in Zurich. The presentation will be a mix of my standard Maven: The Beautiful City talk, which is a gentle introduction to Maven's concepts, and discusses importance of caring for your development infrastructure. Also, a discussion of Maven best practices, and how to make development teams more productive using Maven. I will also allot some time for questions after the presentation, and can provide some demonstrations for those who are interested.

The presentation will be held on Thursday, August 16th from 6-8pm at the in the Auditorium room at the Convention Point. There will be some drinks and hors d'oeuvres provided after the presentation. The full address is below and here's the Google map to help you find your way. See you next Thursday and many thanks to SWX for sponsoring the event !
